LightSpeed 1.0 Released!
Tagged as LightSpeedI’m proud to announce that LightSpeed 1.0 is now available for download and purchase.
There are several editions available which all include the samples, multiple database provider support and documentation, the only limitations that apply are to the model class count and if you require a more formal priority support agreement with Mindscape.
Available Editions
| Edition | Limitation | Cost |
| Express | Maximum of 8 model classes. | Free! |
| Standard | Maximum of 30 model classes. | $199 USD |
| Professional | None | $499 USD |
| Professional + Priority Support | None | $1499 USD |
If you’re not sure which edition your need then please us to discuss your requirements, we are always happy to help.
To experiment with LightSpeed you can download the Express edition free of charge and try out the samples to see the differences that make LightSpeed so much more efficient to work with.
We would also like to extend a thank-you to all the individuals that downloaded the beta releases and provided feedback to help ensure that we delivered the best final product we could. We have been pleased that even during our beta phase the praise for LightSpeed was high and several ISVs have already been developing commercial applications on LightSpeed.

Great stuff guys!
Well done.
I understand that one of our teams here @ Intergen are rolling out a project on this right now… I look forward to seeing how they get on.
See you boys @ TechEd!

Is the license per developer, per company, per application or something else?
Hi Johan,
The license is per company. If your organisation wanted to use LightSpeed professional for example, it would pay the licensing fee and all the developers can use it.
Note however that if the IP of your work belongs to a client that the license would be the clients and you would need to acquire a license for the client the work is for (this affects companies that do work for clients rather than, say, a product company that only builds IP for themselves).
If you have any further queries I’d be happy to discuss this further with you, just email me at jd@mindscape.co.nz.
Hope that helps,
John-Daniel Trask
Ok,
Then I understand. We are actually doing both, we have our own product and we develop some solutions for clients. But I don’t see that as a problem.
