Since the latest update of the plugin, when I edit & save some of my partials .scss files, the CSS is not recompiled. I also try the latest nighty build: same problem (3.2.780.22483). I noticed this problem on different projects and different development environments. |

In the meantime is it possible to download a previous version of this addon? |

re: Downloading earlier versions, we have started adding the update versions to the Downloads section for the Web Workbench subscription so you can find the most recent 2 updates there.

re: The issue you are seeing, are you able to send us through a small repro project which exhibits this behaviour please (the content of the files should be largely irrelevant other than for linking them and verifying that something is being correctly included) and I can have a look at getting out an additional fix for this.

Hi Jeremy Thanks for adding the links to the older versions of WW. Here is a sample project with the problem. If I save /ui/styles.scss, the CSS compilation is well done. I'm using VS2012 11.0.60223.01 Update 2 CTP and Windows 8 x64. Thanks. |

Thanks for the repro project - this was an issue with nested includes and I have added a fix which was pushed out in the most recent gallery update and is also in the current nightly builds. Let us know if you notice any other issues around includes not being picked up as there seems to have been a few edge cases popping up in this area recently.

Thanks Jeremy, it seems to be working well now. |

I'm still having this issue, and I updated the plugin yesterday, after reading this very post. |

Also can you confirm what version of WW you are using.

I was using version 3.2.804, now I'm on 3.2.814.22544. As it turns out, I was using the following syntax to import scss files:
When using:
everything works just fine. I couldn't understand my mistake because the css was actually compiled even with the single quotes. |
|
|
This is also failing for me - and is not fixed by the updates of the last few days. I'm at 3.2.824.22555 (the most recent version). This was working, up until the last week or so. I am a paying user and have been working with the same project in Web Workbench for over a year, so I know it is not something I'm doing wrong. I hope you resolve this soon. It makes the product almost worthless for SASS usage. |

@jessej9 - Sorry to hear this - are you able to send through an example file (and its imports) where this fails and I can have a look into the issue and look to get it fixed for the next update. The contents of the file shouldn't matter too much outside of demonstrating how it fails so you can strip things back to a minimal level to demonstrate the problem.

|
@Jeremy - Since the latest update of WW (this is maybe related to the bugfix from this thread), each time I save a Scss file, Visual Studio freeze during ~ 4-5 seconds. I'm doing a lot of Ctrl+S mechanically, so this issue is a bit annoying. |
|
|
@Etienne - Sorry Im not sure what would be causing this - the updates we have made recently have largely all been bugfixes so performance should be unaffected (or better if anything). Im not seeing any issues like this in our test cases here but it could be a case where you are working on something a bit more substantial. Is it possible for you to privately send us a copy one of the files and its nested set of imports which we could use to try and reproduce this and diagnose this further? If this is possible could you please send this through to us to support at mindscape.co.nz and I can get back to you once I have had a look into whats occurring.

Ran into the same problem, been able to narrow it down a bit: Currently my master.scss looks like this:
While all of the above files are actually underscored, so _footer.scss, _forms.scss, etc. This worked fine until recently. With the recent builds the above format does not automatically regenerate the master anymore when editing a partial. When I change the above to:
The issue appears to be fixed, so it seems like something is wrong with the parsing of the "virtual" file format of the @imports. |
|
|
In addition to this: apparantly adding only the underscore is enough, extension is not required (but works as well so does no harm). |
|
|
@pleunv - Thanks for the extra info! Ive set up an example using the structure you described above here but this is working fine for me with or without the underscores and with or without the extension, e.g. if I save _forms.scss in /base then my top level .scss file which imports base/forms will be regenerated. It sounds from what you have described that you are running the latest version of WW? (3.2.837.22573), if so is it possible to send through a small repro project where this isn't working as expected which we can use to try and debug this further.

Adding the underscore to the name of the partial file also fixed the issue for me. There must have been a change to the code parsing the import file names. So, for example, for importing partial files _profile.sccs and help.sccs, my original working code in style.sccs was: @import "profile"; @import "help"; After changing the code to: @import "_profile"; @import "help"; style.css now is rebuilt when either partial file is changed. Thanks @pleunv! |

I am having similar issues to some people above where as of this afternoon whenever I save a .scss file the compile takes a while and VS freezes in the middle. All up is about 30-40 seconds just to compile! I noticed that VS had received some updates through Windows Updater. I uninstalled the updates and tried compiling the css again... still no luck! Same behaviour. I uninstalled WebWorkbench and reinstalled. No luck. I updated to a newer version on WebWorkbench in the process (latest - 3.2.837.22573) and it doesn't freeze VS as often (VS goes into 'Not Responding") but still takes 30-40 seconds to compile. I tried adding underscores and file extensions to my partial imports but made no difference. Currently pulling my hair out. I'm using VS2010 Version 10.0.40219.1 SP1Rel if that helps narrow the issue down at all. Hopefully we can find a solution! |

Thanks for the reply Jeremy. I created a test project and wasn't getting the same issue. I have since 'recreated' my existing project that was getting the issues and it is now working fine (while the previous version is still not working). I think that maybe the Visual Studio updates I installed had maybe corrupted a file related to the specific project rather than WorkBench itself. Should be ok for now. |

Hi Jeremy, On my side I still have the problem. Thanks, |
