Nightly news, 29 October 2010

Favourite comment of the week, from the Silverlight Elements 2.0 logs: “LineSeries can now support at least FIVE MILLION points.” Bustin’ through the traditional four million, nine hundred and ninety-nine thousand barrier! But it hasn’t all been bad Dr Evil impressions: we’ve also got a few fixes for you. Here’s what’s new in this week’s nightly builds.

  • Fix for a through association from an entity to itself sometimes returning the wrong direction
  • Update Database in the designer no longer tries to create foreign keys for associations to transient entities. Transient entities! I always knew they were a mistake.
  • We no longer try to cascade deletes to transient entities. Transient entities! Just say no, kids.
  • We’ve fixed an issue with join criteria when a sub-query is joined from a Where expression with a traversal. Transient ent– wait, what?
  • We now support subexpressions with paging on databases which use row-number style paging instead of nice easy limit/offset paging
  • Fix for issues around query alias merging for joins

Available right now from the usual places!
