To start, use the atomic design with sass where we have one base file that consists @import commands that brings all the pieces of SASS in so it exports one big base.css file. It has been really useful not having to look through 5000 lines of CSS. Until recently, if I was in one of the files that was linked via the import I could save and then it would see that it was part of the base and save the whole thing. I would know if it was doing this because a save would take over 10 seconds. But now it only saves that file and doesn't propagate to the base.scss and other SCSS files accordingly. As a work around I would save the small file then go back and save the base.scss file (in that order) and my changes would be reflected, but I am noticing an issue now where I use a variable that was declared in one of the other imported files in base.scss and it says it is an unbound variable. It does not do that with my associates here. I have not loaded on any other extensions since and I try to go to settings and I just see a huge list of CSS, SCSS, and JS files, is there a way to reload or reset Mindscape? I was considering removing and readding the extension. This issue seems somewhat sporadic, sometimes it will work but often not. |

Has anything changed (any updates of VS or WW etc?) - what extensions do you have installed? Do you see the behavior sporadically in between restarts of VS?

Jeremy, thank you for your reply. There is nothing I actively updated with Visual Studio, is there a way I can find out if there were any background updates? Does Mindscape update automatically? Of so that could change things. As far as extensions, I have: Behaviors SDK BOEditor DevExpress Microsoft Advertising pubCenter Mindscape NuGet Package manager Productivity power tools styleNinja TFS Version 1 Visual F# Web Essentials Workflow Manager activities None of these I have updated so unless one of them auto updated I am not sure the culprit. |

Try disabling Web Essentials as that conflicts with Web Workbench.

Jeremy, It looks like that worked. I can now save one of my atomic scss files and it would change the base, the main bummer now is I lost Web Essentials as well as the preview pane that shown the css on the right side. It didn't work with the sub files anyway if there were any variables created in a different file, but it did with the base.scss. Would I just need to weigh the pros and cons of which is better or do you have any ideas how i can modify one or the other to get them to be happy with each other? Thank you for your help! |

Its a case of one or the other at one time as Web Essentials is looking to hook the same things in the editor that we are so they end up conflicting.
