Hi, We're using VS 2013 (update 2) with Web Workbench 3.3 Pro. If we create a new witesite from VS then everything works as expected. But if we open an existing website (File/Open Web Site) from VS, then it seems that Workbench cannot create the WebWorkbench.mswwsettings file. There's no error, but if we make a change to the "Web Workbench Settings", the file is not created. Also, if we select "Setup Compass Project", none of the Compass folders or files are created and we receive these errors:
We've confirmed the problems exists when opening and existing IIS virtual directory or IIS Application. We've tested on Win7 and Win8 (both running VS 2013). The only way we've been able to use Web Workbench with an existing website is to first create an empty site from VS, enable Compass, then copy all the files from existing site into the new site. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |

Just to confirm you are opening this via http? (e..g the site location is http://something), if so this is not supported - we only support projects and applications based on the local file system due to the external tooling.

The files are located on the local machine running IIS. Even when the project does not require .net, I've converted the IIS folder to an application and the problem still occurs. If the IIS application folder is created by VS then it works fine. |

Since it doesn't seem like anyone can help resolve this issue, it looks like we'll have to switch to a different product (maybe Prepros). We purchased two keys for Workbench Pro - anyone know how to get a refund? |
