Are there any plans to add code folding to CoffeeScript? Working on large files is rather difficult. I find myself falling back to using e Text Editor with the CoffeeScript tmbundle (TextMate bundle). Using a different editor is a bit of a pain since I have to save twice, once in e, and then once in VS in order to generate the JavaScript files. Thanks, Damien |

Hello Damien, I've implemented a beta version of code collapsing for CoffeeScript and it will be in the next nightly build (available from about 1200 GMT; see http://www.mindscapehq.com/forums/thread/281069 for how to get nightly builds). It is pretty basic -- it will only collapse top level functions and classes, not e.g. individual class members, and it will collapse trailing comments -- but hopefully it will solve enough of the pain to ease your workflow for most of your large files. Please let us have your feedback and do alert us if you run into any bugs in the beta. |
