Hi, Has anyone had trouble minifying plain old js files in VS11 Beta? When I open the Web Workbench settings and select the JS file to minify I am presented with an error dialog that says "Value cannot be null. Parameter name: contentType". This works fine for me in VS2010, just not in VS11. I've opened a new project and added a single js file, then opened the options and selected minify. Save and error happens. Seems to happen with the latest nightly and also the version available via the extensions manager. Regards, Cuinn. |

Thanks for reporting this. Microsoft have subtly changed a few magic strings in VS11 and this is tripping our use of one of those. Ive added a fix for this which will be available in the next nightly build (see the FAQ sticky thread for info on obtaining and installing nightly builds). Let us know if you still see any problems after updating.

The latest nightly (3 jun) still has this problem. Result is that only the first less-file is saved to the WebWorkbench-settings file. Additionally, the settings in Tools|Options|Web Workbench are not picked up: I've set Less-compilation to false but when I delete the settings-file and then open the Mindscape-settings dialog all items are checked by default. Very frustrating experience. ps: is it possible to include relative path-names to the less-files listed in the settings file? I have files with similar names in 2 folders, and you can't differentiate between them in your settings list. Update: I'm using VS 2012 RC |

Thanks, I will have to retest this once I have VS 2012 RC installed, sounds like they may have changed things again.

I have retested this with VS 2012 RC but I am not seeing either problem here. Are you able to send over a small repro project which exhibits this behavior which we can look at to try and debug this further? You can attach them to the forum post or alternatively, if you'd rather not post this to the forum then you can email it to support@mindscape.co.nz.
