I had a .coffee file I pasted some lines into (eg pasted the console.log line which had spaces indenting it). The unexpected result was the function ended after the console.log and the if block was in a new section. It should have given me 'Error: Parse error on line 20: Unexpected 'INDENT'' or interpreted the mixed tabs better. Coffee script example:
The incorrect and unexpected output was:
On Web Workbench 3.2.200.20308 |

+1 -- I wasted a half hour on this the other night! Is there a way to register the .coffee filetype with VS so that it pops the "mixed tabs and spaces" alert bar? |

Hmm, something odd going on here -- I do get the 'mixed tabs and spaces' warning and the parse error (see attached screenshots). But it's probably worth us checking for this situation anyway and emitting our own alert, as it's invariably an error. Thanks for the heads up and we'll take a look! |

Just double-checked and I don't get the alerts. The nightly installer throws some weird errors for me now, too. Is there a "clean out the mess" procedure you can recommend? Uninstall doesn't work (it just disables). |

You should be able to 'clear out the mess' by exiting Visual Studio, going into %AppData%/Local/Low/Microsoft/VisualStudio/10.0/Extensions/Mindscape and just deleting the Web Workbench directory. But we'd like to know what the 'weird error' is and we're curious as to why uninstall is disabling rather than uninstalling. Could you capture the error log before you do the cleanout please? Thanks! |

The next nightly build will display a message in the Output window if a CoffeeScript file contains mixed tabs and spaces. |

I'm posting details in another thread. Also: that directory doesn't exist on my machine. I have to go in here... %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\VisualStudio\10.0\Extensions And there's no "Mindscape" directory. I get a randomly-named directory. (In fact, now I have two). I guess the installer is failing on the rename or something? |
