Hi guys, I am just wondering if it is at all possible using Web Workbench (I have Pro) to combine multiple regular .js files into one? I have tried using the "Imports" minify feature but this doesn't seem to work (it does create a .combined file, but my files don't seem to be in there). Perhaps I am missing something. I am seeing an error when I save my Workbench Settings file ("Value cannot be null, Parameter name: value"). I am also running a recent version of WWB, downloaded this week. Thanks advance, Danny |

The approach you are using is correct so this should be generating the combined file for you. Is there anything in the .combined file or is it blank? And is the .min.js file correct? With the issue saving settings, can you try creating a blank project and add in each of the files you see in the list one by one to see which one introduces the error? Also are you using VS2010 or the VS2012 RC?

Hi Jeremy, Thank you for the suggestions. I have created a number of test scenarios. I suspected the issue could be caused by my source control (Mercurial using TortoiseHG) - so these tests were all outside of source control. I created a blank "web application" and was able to combine two very simple JS files. When saving the WWB settings file, I didn't receive an error. However, when I created a blank "Web site", I see the exact same problem. So I am receiving an error when I try to save (http://screencast.com/t/0K46TQDIDg). I have also found that when I close and re-open the Settings file, most changes appear to be saved, however the "Imports" area is still blank. I am running VS2010 Pro. I also have a computer at home where I am experiencing the exact same issue. We work 100% with "Web Sites", rather than "Web Applications", so I suspect this is a big part of the issue. Does this help? Let me know if I can provide any further info. Cheers, Danny |

Thanks! Yes indeed that looks to be the issue - I can replicate this when setting this up as a Web Site rather than using a Web Application. Ill have a look into what is causing this and let you know once we have a fix available for the nightly builds.

Oh very good, glad you're able to replicate. Let me know how it goes, and thanks again for your help. Cheers, Danny |

I have tracked down the cause of this and added in a fix which will be available in the next nightly build. Let me know if this covers the issue for you.
