I just downloaded the product and am putting it through the paces, when I click on a JS file and select convert to coffee script I get the following error. any suggestions? C:\Users\dennis\AppData\Local\Temp\Mindscape\WebWorkbench\nodejs\nodejs\nodemodules\js2coffee\lib\command:58
throw e;

Are you able to send through your JavaScript file to allow us to reproduce this? The error message seems to indicate that the file you are working with doesn't actually contain any JavaScript.

I am having the same exact problem. Just to try out something, I opened a new js file named JScript1.js and put the following code in the file: Widget = { hide: function() { return this.element .animate({opacity: 0.0, top: -10}); }, show: function() { return this.element .animate({opacity: 1.0, top: 0}); }, element: $(".widget") } I saved the file, right clicked on it, and chose Convert to CoffeeScript. I got the same message described by the other poster above. |

Thanks, I dont get the same error but I suspect this is to do with a byte order mark in the file not being handled by js2coffee - that causes no output for me so I am going to be adding in a pre-processor to strip that out ahead of us sending the content down for conversion. Once I have that updated in the nightlies I will let you know and if you are able to give that a retest to see if that solves this issue that would be much appreciated :)

Sounds good. I'll be happy to test it out for you. |

Thanks - there is an update for this in tonight's nightly build. Let us know if you continue to run into any issues.

Hi, I'm still getting this error on any js file. Even a new js file with a single alert statement in it. I am using the 17th Sep nightly. Kind regards, Cuinn. edit: I should mention that I'm using VS2012 on Windows 7 64bit. |

Can you zip up one of the files in question and attach it here or email it through? Just want to rule out the file itself as being the problem.

Jeremy, I've attached the file. Like I said, it's super simple, but fails to convert. I've included the error below as well (even though I think it's the same as above) Regards, Cuinn. C:\Users\cuinn\AppData\Local\Temp\Mindscape\WebWorkbench\nodejs\nodejs\nodemodules\js2coffee\lib\command:58

Hmm ok, its not the file as that works happily here. What type of project are you working with and is the file on a local drive or on a network drive/web folder?
|
|
|
I am also still getting the error. My project type is an MVC4 Application, and it is on a local drive. |
|
|
Any chance you can send through an example project where this is occurring for me to try and reproduce? Unfortunately I am unable to replicate this here so its a bit unclear still if the problem may be related to specific files or an environmental issue which is common to the people who are seeing this problem.
