I have the follwing code at the top of my style.less file.
These reset and mixins less files are in the same folder as the style.less. When compiling get the following error;
I also tried the following but it didn't work either.
Any ideas what Im doing wrong? |

Nothing looks obviously wrong although given the line numbers on the error I would wonder if maybe there is some encoding data at the beginning of the file which is tripping up the compiler - if you are able to send through your .less files though I can have a look into whats going on here.

Ive simplified the files massively and i still get the problem. See attached files |

Unfortunately I am not seeing any error - just to clarify the steps I have taken:
I noted that the current contents of the files means that there is no actual output since there is just a mixin definition with no actual usage. I added in a selector to make use of this and it emitted the correct output. Are you able to recheck my steps (in particular use the files attached rather than your local copies in case there has been something stripped as part of the upload process) and confirm you still get your original result?

I undertsand that the files I attached wasn't ever going to output much and the mixin wasnt set up, but i did this to simplify the process. I made a video demonstrating how @import doesn't seem to work at all for me even in a empty project with empty files. Please see this link. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/14037764/Development/stackoverflow/mindscape-workbench/lessError/lessError.html Also FYI, I am using version 3.2.419.21172 on VS2010 SP1. |

So I thought I'd take the time to disable all of my plugins and re-enable them one by one, doing this I discovered that the issue is due to a conflict with the JS Lint plugin. I use this plugin on a day to day basis, could you look into whats causing the conflict and see if its possible to fix? http://visualstudiogallery.msdn.microsoft.com/961e6734-cd3a-4afb-a121-4541742b912e/ Thanks. |

Thanks for the update - I will try to have a quick look to understand a bit more about what is going on. Can you raise this with the JSLint plugin creator as well please as we dont have any control over their behavior and it sounds like an error that they should be hooking something into Less content. As an aside you know that we run JSLint as part of minifying JavaScript files so you can use WW for that :)

I will notify the jslint plugin developer. If you could take a look that would be most appreciated. It would be nice if your JSLint / Hint had:

are your less files named ending in .less.css ? The extension has a validate on save option and also a validate css files.. have you tried turning these off? I'm not sure exactly what else would be conflicting.. b.t.w. I am the author of the plugin (and funnily enough also one of the most active developers for less.js and dotless) |
|
|
Yes I have tried turning these options off, nothing works other than disabling the plugin altogether. |
|
|
Also my file does not end in .less.css, its just .less |

+1 exactly the same thing happens to me. JSLint VS2010 had to go :( |
|
|
When I tried to reproduce I got this I don't see how it is anything to do with JSLint VS2010? I have found that calling EnvDTE.ProjectItem.get_FileNames sometimes gives an exception, but I'm not sure how it can be caused by our extension. Can any midscape devs help here?

@agatronic: Not sure if that relates to the original issue but feel free to ping me an email at support at mindscape.co.nz to get a dialog going on this :) It would be great to try and sort out what is going on here.

Has any progress been made on this issue? |
|
|
Not specifically but we have fixed an issue which has this cause recently so I would be interested if you are still seeing this occur.
