We recently purchased the Pro version and are pleased with the functionality. I am currently sorting out our process of moving from development to production. We have an automated build process in place, so using the command line utility to minify our JavaScript was what first came to mind, rather than generating the minified files in VS2010 and checking them in to TFS. However, I would like to be able to add a new JavaScript file to our project and not have to update the build scripts. Is there a way to tell the command line tool to build based off of the setting file? Also, is there a cheat sheet or guide to using the either the VS extension or the command line utility? |

No the command line compiler doesnt use the settings file - the intention is that you will specify the associated settings as part of the command line arguments. For the command line compiler, run the executable with no arguments to get the info about what arguments are avaiable and feel free to fire through any questions here :) If you want to pop a feature request in the feature requests sub-forum we can look at adding in support for fetching settings from the settings file/project file as a future enhancement though :)

Thanks for your quick response. I have solved this issue via the deployment process, and without the command line tool. Thanks again. |

this would have been a feature that you would think someone would have thought of in a professional organization. rick f. |
