Thanks for reporting this - do you have an existing config file (WebWorkbench.mswwsettings) in your website prior to the crash, and if you do is the file read only or being managed by a source control provider? I presume you are also running the latest gallery update version of Web Workbench?

yes the config file is present, read/write and not under SCC and running the latest update. Jack |

If you delete the existing settings file and let it create a new one with the default settings and then make a single simple change (e.g. check a tick box off) and save it do you stilll get a crash? The file itself should be getting completely refreshed each time but I am wondering if there is something about the existing file which is generating the crash or a setting that was being applied within the existing file that is causing a problem when being written back out.

Jeremy, I have removed the settings file, uninstalled and reinstalled WB from Nuget (3.2.528.21592) and all is working fine now. Thank you. Jack |

Great to hear! Dont suppose you still have a copy of the settings file (e.g. previous version in source control) which you can send through? I would be very keen to try and track down the root cause of this since it appears to be some bad data in the settings file.

Here is the original settings file... |

Jeremy, the issue re-occured on a new web ASP.Net site project (w/o TFS). - checking only the .css file(s), compile occurs without any issue when saving the config, - but if I include a .js to compile, it crashes and no config file to be found! |

What other extensions do you have installed, in particular do you have JSLint installed? The most recent issue like this has turned out to be a conflict with JSLint due to us both using a common JavaScript engine which appears to only want to be single instance.

You nailed it. JSLint was the culprit! Thanks Jeremy |
