Using the WPF PropertyGrid, I'm trying to get the property name to appear selected when I click on its editor. I created a simple custom editor for use with properties of MyType that displays a string using a MaskedTextBox. Clicking on it does not cause the name of the associated property to appear selected. But that's also true for properties that are using built-in editors. Sometimes the previously selected property remains 'selected', and other times no property name appears selected. I'm running the evaluation version (5.1.1205.20655) on Windows 8 (Enterprise), and this problem can be seen in the sample code such as the on the first page of the PropertyGridCustomization sample. Sometimes when I click an editor, the property name appears selected and other times it does not. There doesn't seem to be a pattern to whether or not it appears selected, however I was able to get a consistent repro scenario. Here are the steps:
This same behavior occurs in my own app. However, I'm also never able to get the property name to appear selected when I click on my custom editor based on the MaskedTextBox. What do I have to do to make it possible to select the property name of the associated editor when I click on it? Thanks in advance, BillBR |

Hello BillBR Thanks for pointing this out and sending us the repro steps. This issue will be resolved in the next nightly build. The next nightly build will be available at around 1200 GMT. Nightly builds can be downloaded from here: http://www.mindscapehq.com/products/wpfelements/nightly-builds Jason Fauchelle |

You're welcome, Jason. The changes you made in the nightly build resolved both issues -- the general problem of sync'ing the selection of the property name with the selected value, and also my problem of the property name not appearing selected when I clicked on my custom editor. Thanks for being so responsive! |

I have a couple other questions about this, Jason. The nightly build page says it is for the "Express Edition". Is that the same as the "Trial" version that I was evaluating? Will the changes you made to resolve this issue also be included in the nightly build for the release version? If so, when will they be available? Thanks, BillBR |

Hello BillBR Yes, "Express Edition" is referring to the "Trial" version. Nightly builds for both the trial version and release version are available at the same time. If you get the release version, nightly builds can be downloaded from your account page. Jason Fauchelle |
