Hi guys, I'm guessing this is cos i'm trying to force lightspeed into a specific situation which it's not happy with but if there is a nice workaround or something I'm missing then it would be great. I have an existing table where the primary key is a collection of letters. I'm wondering if lightspeed can handle such a situation where the id colum is manually being populated rather then autogenerated from the key table / database autoincrement functions (somehow bypassing the identity method or implementing a custom identity method).
should add there would be afew aspects to this... How should the domain model look for mapping the Id's from existing strings in the database Primary key, cheers Matt

Hi Matt, LightSpeed doesn't support natural keys like that. The solution is create surrogate key columns. Cheers, Andrew. |

Awesome, thought that might be the case, thanks |
