Is it possible for me to create an Entity and fill in its data as if it were an "Existing" object without hitting the database? The reason i ask is: we have a complex search function that we can't do in lightspeed (it has amongst other things, full text seraches) For now i have written a stored procedure to do this and was hoping to populate a list of products that act as if they have come from the database- currently the only was i have found of doing this is to load the Entities one at a time, can you suggest a better solution? Regards, Peter |

Hi Peter, If you can use a View then LightSpeed can use that no problems. Cheers, Andrew. |

Hi Andrew We have used views to this effect before, however in this case it does not seem possible because of the parameterised full text search from user input... A way to load an entity ourselfs or a way of loading from a parameterised stored procedure would be most useful here.. Regards, Peter |

Hi Peter, Do you need the SP for any other reason apart from using the full text functions? The reason I ask is that LS now lets you call arbitrary functions using the standard query syntax. i.e: IList<Contribution> contributions = Repository.Find<Contribution>( Cheers, Andrew. |

Hi Andrew We are using this to drive the search functionaility on a website and at the moment it seems rather slow- in part i assuem to the fact that after it has searched it then has to issue a query per object to retreive the data- which could simply be returned from the proc and filled into a LS class.. |
