Is there planned support in Lightspeed for Amazon query language's special operators? Select Comparison Operators: http://docs.amazonwebservices.com/AmazonSimpleDB/2007-11-07/DeveloperGuide/index.html?UsingSelectOperators.html Could we have some sort of "pass through" support where we send in raw SimpleDB query strings and have them return automatically as entities? Or could we query SimpleDB and then have something that helps with converting the raw response data into Lightspeed entities? |

Sorry for the delay in replying. I've now added StartsWith support and this will be in nightly builds dated 21 Apr 2009 and above, available after about 1430 GMT. We can't provide LIKE support at the moment because we're currently generating "old style" Amazon query syntax, not the new SELECT syntax. When we update the product to the SELECT syntax we will aim to get LIKE functionality in there. We are considering passthrough support as one or two people have also asked for it on traditional SQL databases; however I'm afraid it is unlikely to happen before 3.0. |

Thanks for the update.
Any idea when you'll update to the SELECT syntax? Before or after 3.0?

It will probably be after 3.0 I'm afraid. However if you have a pressing scenario that can only be done using the SELECT syntax then let us know -- we always try to be responsive in such cases! |
