Just curious. Would it be possible to add a feature that allows us to specify a namespace per entity on the designer, instead of just per model file? Right now, the generated classes end up in one namespace and since we can't modify the generated file we can't change the namespaces. It would be nice to be able to group entities by namespace so we can better organize our classes. It's not a showstopper, but just something that would be nice to help us conform to our defined conventions. Thanks!

That sounds like a nice feature and I've logged a request for it. Unfortunately, it's probably not going to be possible in the short term. There are ways it could be done using custom templates though -- let me know if it's important enough for you to be worth considering that route. Thinking ahead, it would be nice to hook it up to a future "sub-model" UI so you could define your namespaces at a "domain" level e.g. the Sales section of the model gets one namespace, the Logistics section gets another, etc., so you just need to put entities into the right part of the model rather than having to manage namespaces for each entity individually. But that UI is even further away... |

I am just starting to evaluate LightSpeed and being able to use different namespaces they way you described would be one of our requirements. We could be using LS for all of our applications. Some of these could be done in different models but would be better if we could use different namespaces. Can you describe how this could be done in one model or if anymore thought has gone into the "sub-model" idea. |
