I am trying to setup my model, browsing my DB via VS2008 and when I drag my tables to LS they don't generate and throw errors if I am using SQL Server 2008. Works great for SQL Server 20005 though.
In the properties window under Roundtripping and Database Provider there is not SQL Server 20087 option from the drop down list? I am using the demo version of the software I downloaded from your site last week. What can I do about this?

Hello Max, Although there is no separate design-time provider for SQL Server 2008, the SQL 2005 provider should work fine, though certain SQL 2008-specific data types like geometry are not yet supported. We use SQL 2008 here and we are able to drag tables okay. Could you tell us what errors you are seeing? Thanks! |

This is from the output window for LightSpeed when I try to drag a table to the design surface (looks like it won;t connect?):

The connection is correct or I wouldn't see the table to drag, also this only happens if I am using a SQL Server 2008 database

Does the Server Explorer connection have "remember password" turned on? Could you post the connection string associated with the Server Explorer connection? (With password replaced by x's or whatever.) Thanks! |

Looks like I didn't have that checked - weird I never had to have it checked before and this DB worked with LinqtoSQL so I assumed everything was done properly.
Thanks for pointing that out to me!
