Hello,
I downloaded LightSpeed and tested, and it's a great product. However, I need to find a solution that allows me to create a Microsoft Entity Data Model (edmx class) to an Oracle 10 (or maybe 11) database. When adding an edmx class to my solution and generating the model from the database, the only two options I have in terms of database connections are two SQL Server drivers (i.e., when clicking "New Connection" to point to the Oracle database). I need a solution/driver that gives me the option in this scenario to connect to an Oracle database to create my Microsoft Entity Data Model (edmx class).
Is LightSpeed supposed to support this scenario? Does a product/driver exist to allow for the creation of a Microsoft Entity Data Model (edmx class) to an Oracle database?
The reason I ask is because I have a Silverlight solution that accesses various SQL Server databases using RIA Services (Domain Service classes) which, as far as I know, need the Microsoft Entity Data Model (edmx class) to see the tables and build its service methods and properties. Just recently, I've been asked to access data from an Oracle server in this application and I'd like to continue to use RIA Services to do this, as RIA makes paging, filtering, etc., etc., soooo easy.
If anyone has any ideas on whether this is possible and how to implement, I would be very grateful. On the other hand, if this scenario is not possible (meaning this kind of driver or product doesn't exist), and I need to use a WCF service or something else, I would also appreciate someone confirming this for me.
Thanks in advance for any help. regards, Patrick
