Having designed my data model using LightSpeed I then wanted to copy-and-paste it into my Architecture/Design MS-Word document. I pressed Ctrl-A and then Ctrl-C, flipped over into Word and it didn't paste. I was expecting to copy an image of all the diagram to the clipboard, but this feature doesn't seem to exist. Besides taking a screen-shot of the diagram is there any other way to grab a visual of the data model? Thanks, Robert |

This wasn't previously supported but I've now added it and it will be included in nightly builds dated 24 Sept 2009 and above, available from about 1430 GMT. I have only tested it in Word 2010 (and Windows Paint); if you run into problems e.g. with other versions of Word or graphics programs, please let us know. |

That was just about the fastest response/feature-add I've ever seen. Thank you! |

(Any chance that when you've selected just a few of the elements and then copy it that the clipboard will contain an image of just those elements and their relationships? - I feel like I'm pushing my luck...) |

Your luck is good -- mostly. What will happen is that everything that is selected will get copied to the clipboard. So if you select a set of entities and the arrows between them, the clipboard will contain an image of just those entities and their relationships. However, if you only select the entities, and not the arrows, the clipboard will contain just the entities, not the relationships. If you only select the arrows, the clipboard will contain a bunch of arrows and no entities. (If you have nothing selected (i.e. click on the background), the entire diagram gets copied.) So what you want will work, but you need to remember to select the arrows as well as just the elements. |

That's perfect, because if you lasso something by dragging over the diagram with the mouse then it works exactly as you'd expect. |
