I designed my DB w/ an int indexing column and a GUID ID PK column that uses SQL 2005 'newsequentialid()' as the default value. However, whenever I try to add an entity to the db I get this exception: SqlException: Cannot insert explicit value for identity column in table 'xxxxx' when IDENTITY_INSERT is set to OFF. The entity id type is set to GUID and the identity generation type is set to GUID, am I missing something? Do I have to set IDENTITY_INSERT on for all my GUID ID tables in the database? |

Hah! ok nvm. I got it. Turns out my indexing key 'IndexID' (non-PK) just needed to be switched to transient and all is good. Since it's auto gen'd and only there for DB purposes, no biggy! |
