Hi guys, We're still considering whether to switch to LS 3 for our first project with Lightspeed. Of course, LS 3 being in beta and with "unsuitable for production environments" label on it, it's hard to make that decision. Do you have any schedule or "feeling" according to current feedback - when do you expect LS 3 to come out of beta? Thanks |

We can't give you a hard date yet but we would expect it to be in the next few weeks. To be honest, the majority of the remaining work is around polishing, cleanup, documentation and samples rather than core engine work -- things that probably wouldn't affect experienced users like you guys, but we wouldn't want to launch without them. What sort of timescales are you looking at for this project? |

Thanks Ivan. We are currently scheduled for deployment in December (though, with recession postponing most of our projects for months, I wouldn't be surprised this one is also again postponed). I do like your answer though and we are keen to include at least LINQ joins and entity change tracking in our solution, so we will probably go with LS 3. |

Hello Marko, I just wanted to update you on where we are with the LightSpeed 3 schedule. We basically have two outstanding bugs to fix in the LINQ provider, one of which is the join issue you reported. Unfortunately, these are taking longer than we had hoped and we are not yet in a position to give you a confirmed fix date. Since you said you were originally scheduled for deployment in December, I wanted to figure out whether this was going to be a risk factor for you and if so whether there was any way we could help you to mitigate it. Feel free to drop me a line on ivan @ the obvious domain name if this is a concern or if you want to update us on your timing and delivery requirements. |
