Is there anything that needs to be installed on the server on which the web application that uses Lighspeed is going to run? |

From a LightSpeed point of view, no: just xcopy the LightSpeed DLL(s) along with the rest of the application. (You always need the core LightSpeed DLL; you'll also need the LINQ and Dynamic Data DLLs if you're using those features.) You do NOT need to run the LightSpeed installer on the Web server. However, depending on your database provider, you may or may not need to copy provider DLLs or even run an installer for the database libraries. For example, if you are using SQL Server or the Microsoft Oracle provider, these are built into the .NET Framework; but if you are using MySQL or PostgreSQL, you need to xcopy the provider DLLs; and if you are using Oracle ODP or DB2 then you will need to run the Oracle Client or DB2 installer. This is outside the scope of LightSpeed though and you'll need to consult your database documentation. |
