I just upgraded to 3, updated references, and compiled and ran my project fine. However, the visual designer is still 2.0. I can tell because it still has the old options for database type. Should I uninstall 2 before installing 3? |

You shouldn't need to uninstall 2.2 before installing 3.0, but if you're seeing any oddities, then it's probably a wise precaution to do an uninstall-reinstall. However, before you go through this hoop, could you clarify what you're seeing that gives you cause for concern? Is there a database you're expecting to see that's not there? (There's no separate SQL 2008 provider in the designer, so you'll still see SQL 2005 there. I think the only new database types you'll see in the designer are DB2 and VistaDB 4.) Or are you referring to data types? You'll only see new data types if you're using the SQL 2005 provider, in which case they'll appear at the bottom of the list (i.e. out of alphabetical sequence). |

I was looking at the menu options, looking for some of the new functionality (like the refactor stuff) It wasn't there either. I did a uninstall of both and reinstalled 3.0 and everything is working fine now. No big deal. |
