Hello, I have recently installed Lightspeed 3. When I click on an lsmodel file the designer does not load. Instead I see the lsmodel xml. I have tried install and reinstall lightspeed.
Additionally the .cs file that the model generates is not show up under the model.lsmodel file in the solution explorer. I deleted it and ran the custom tool on the model.lsmodel file and it created a model1.cs file. Not the biggest deal but it makes it hard to manage the source when the file names keep changing. Any suggestions on how to fix these problems are much appreciated. Thanks.

The model1.cs problem is a Visual Studio issue. To fix it, open the .csproj file in a text editor and find the entry for the model.lsmodel file. This should have a subelement called LastGenOutput. Change this back to model.cs. See http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/linqtosql/thread/0c0f77a6-d712-43d2-a990-555df7960123 for more info. Regarding the designer not displaying, this probably means that either your installation is corrupt or that an earlier error has caused VS to skip loading the LightSpeed package. Please check in Control Panel and uninstall any copies of LightSpeed you find there (there may be two, in which case, uninstall them both). Then open a Visual Studio command prompt and run: devenv /resetskippkgs Then reinstall LightSpeed. If that still doesn't work, please run devenv /log and send us the ActivityLog.xml file (see http://blogs.msdn.com/saraford/archive/2005/10/20/483157.aspx for where to find the log file though the version number may be different for VS2008). |
