Hi guys, I was playing around with LS3.0 against our oracle 9 database. I executed a multi-table join query. The query look realy nice but i'm getting a te folowing error: System.ArgumentException: Invalid cast from 'Decimal' to 'DateTime'.Couldn't store <321> in VALID_ON_0 Column. Expected type is DateTime. ---> System.InvalidCastException: Invalid cast from 'Decimal' to 'DateTime'. The statement I'm executing is: var collectedValues = (from rv in _uowElectricity.Current.RegisterValues The query being generated look nice and clean: SELECT I also executed the exact query directly on the database and the result set looks like this t0.code_unit_id AS "code_uni_0" has the value 312 So it looks like it is trying to store the t0.code_unit_id value in the wrong column in the DataSet or something like that. I understand that the information given here might not be enough for you guys to replicate the error. Is there any specific information that you guys would be interested in? Thanks in advance Regards, Rolf |

Thanks Rolf, Would you be able to send through a small repro sample of this behavior and we can have a look at it.

Hi Jeremy, I retested this issue with nightly: LightSpeed30Professional-20100115 and it has been solved. Regards, Rolf |

I downloaded the express version a few days ago and am really loving using it, but this is blocking any progress. We haven't purchased the professional version until we can accomplish the proof of concept. Any chances of this fix getting into the Express version? I am running into a similar problem. It seems like it wants to store the value of one column, into the property of another column.
Query: SELECT
Stack Trace: (The LEGACY_M_0 column is meant for a 6 digit number. There is another column that stores the Y or N appropriately). e = System.ArgumentException: Input string was not in a correct format.Couldn't |

Hi brob, You can get the latest nightly build for the Express version of LightSpeed from http://www.mindscape.co.nz/products/lightspeed/nightlybuilds.aspx - if you download and install that you can confirm if this is still an outstanding issue for you as we believe this will have been fixed earlier as indicated above.
