I'm just wondering why you have disabled connection pooling (set 'Pooling=False' in the connection string) in some of your code snippets - e.g. p.13 of the Getting Started.pdf and also in the Getting Started code snippet accessed from the design surface in VS. Connection pooling is a good thing so I'm curious? |

You're correct that Pooling shouldn't normally be set to false, and there's no particular reason you should need to do so. The Getting Started code snippet on the design surface just uses the connection string associated with your model (click the model background, go to the properties grid, see Connection String), which typically comes from Server Explorer. I think it was just happenstance that those snippets/screenshots were done using a Server Explorer connection for which pooling had been turned off -- we'll get them updated, but in the meantime, don't take it as significant! Thanks for drawing our attention to this! |
