Hi. I am currently converting Nerddinner to use lightspeed on mono/apache and MySQL. Everything works fine, but i noticed that the modeller names its entity classes just like in LINQ, starting with an upper case letter, followed by lower case letters. However, when i perform deletes with lightspeed it complains that my MySQL table doesnt exist. Renaming the entity class to match lower/upper case solves the problem. The table in question is RSVP. Lightspeed named it Rsvp as default. Thought i'd let you know. Best regards |

Thanks darkante. We re-case entities to be consistent with the .NET naming conventions (PascalCasing), and most databases don't care about this -- including MySQL on Windows. But as you've found out, MySQL on Unix is case-sensitive. In this case you can either re-case the entity class as you have done, or you can set the Table Name in the properties window to the correctly cased version. Thought I'd mention the latter option in case you come across entities where the PascalCasing convention makes more sense than in the "RSVP" example! |
