I am doing some work with LightSpeed and SqlCE and seem to be having an issue with getting it to create tables with Blob entity properties. It seems that LS is trying to use a CREATE TABLE statement with the datatype VARBINARY(MAX), when for SqlCE it should be using datatype IMAGE.
This is stopping the LSMigrations from creating tables as it is using the wrong datatype and throwing an exception. I have tried this with the latest nightly build and no luck. |

Thanks for letting us know about this. I've committed a fix which will be included in nightly builds dated 13 July 2010 and above (available from about 1500 GMT). Due to what appears to be a limitation in the SQL CE provider, please note that you will not be able to add non-nullable Blob columns to existing tables -- you will have to either make them nullable, or go to the SQL CE designer and add them by hand. You *can* create non-nullable Blob columns as part of table creation. Please let us know if you still see problems! |

Thanks Ivan, I'll grab the nightly as soon as it is available. I was using VistaDB but now thats gone I need to switch, and sqlce seems the next best option. I hate to think how many man-hours have gone into adding vistadb support all around the globe, only to have it shut down...
