We don't currently have support for that connector. What do you see as the benefits over the "official" MySQL connector? |

The official one is GPL licensed, this one is LGPL licensed. We're not sure if we can include the GPL one in a project without making the sources public, so we're exploring "alternatives". |

Thanks for the clarification. We've talked about this internally and at this stage we do not plan to add support for the ByteFX MySQL driver. Our other MySQL customers seem to be okay with using MySql.Data, but obviously it's possible that their deployment and licensing models differ from yours. However, if your legal folks advise you that you definitely cannot use the MySql.Data driver given your deployment and licensing model, let us know -- no promises though! |
