VistaDB released a new build (4.1) on 7/27. This version had a provider name change. Will this require a new build for LightSpeed? If so, do you know when would be available in the trial edition?

We are looking in to this at the moment, there has been some discussion about this on another thread (http://www.mindscape.co.nz/forums/Thread.aspx?ThreadID=3404) if you want to keep an eye on that for updates :)

It looks like they haven't actually changed the name of the DLL or the data access classes -- they've just changed the lookup key for the provider factory in machine.config, which LightSpeed doesn't use. You should therefore be able to get by with a binding redirect as described in the thread that Jeremy linked to. |
