One of my reasons for using Lightspeed was to give my applications database independance, and hence my customers a little more choice. I have done all my development work using SQL Server and SQLCE, however, one of my customers insists on using MySQL, in theory I have no probelm with this, and Lightspeed, as I undestand it, has good support for MySQL. So my question is, is there an easy, and quick, way, that I can attached the Lightspeed model I have created using SQL Server, and get it to create all the tables, releationships etc. in a MySQL database? If so, can you let me have some simple instructions. Thanks |

Hi Mark, Yes, if you open up the model and then right click, select Properties and bring up the properties pane for the model itself you will see there are settings for the ConnectionString and the Provider type which the model is attached to for purposes of two way syncronization. If you change the Provider to MySQL5 and update the connection string accordingly and then right click and select Update Database then LightSpeed will generate a change script to create any objects which are not already there. If you want to load the SQL for this so you can run it manually later on, check on the "Log SQL" checkbox.
