Hi I'm finding when i try and sync between model and db that for some entities it doesn't do anything at all. No dialog box, no error, nothing. Some entities it does come back with changes to make. But for others (particularly abstract base STI entities) it doesn't give me anything at all - in either direction (db-model/model-db). Is there anywhere i can turn up the level of feedback? Maybe output model sync messages to the output window so i have some idea what's going on? you've got a reasonably recent copy of my model - if you can't repro then happy to screenshare with you... :) cheers justin |

Hmm, a diagnostic log is a nice idea. I'm not sure whether we could implement it in a way that would produce meaningful feedback, but I'll definitely look at it. Thanks for the suggestion! In the meantime, I've found and fixed the issue with abstract STI base classes. This should be in the 3 August nightly build. Thanks for drawing our attention to this! For your own diagnostic pleasure, if nothing at all is being displayed, not even a "The selected entities are up to date" message, then we've concluded that none of your selected entities can participate in database sync. An entity is excluded if any of the following is true: * The Access Method is something other than Table or View So if you come across other cases where an entity is silently refusing to sync, this may at least help you to diagnose them manually. |

just so you know - nightly build 6/9/10 has fixed this. all working. amazing what little things one finds have gotten out of sync with the db when one hasn't done an automated sync for a while... thanks for fixing! |
