Do you have any plans to support Firebird fully, so that I can e.g. drag the tables in VS2010 onto the design surface, as I can using tables from sql server?

Firebird support is currently restricted to maintenance only because there was very limited customer demand for it and it was very expensive for us to develop for. It sounds like Firebird tooling has taken a few steps forward and we may be able to revisit some aspects of Firebird support, but we don't have anything planned in at the moment. Sorry. |

Yes this is very sad.
This database need more spotlight, I used Firebird on most of my desktop apps and SqlServer for most web application. It was small, fast, and easy to deploy, not to mention the .NET Provider for Firebird is very mature and support EF. |
