Hi When attempting to set an Identity column on an entity to string I receive the attached (image) error message. Is it possible to have a String based identity column in NHibernate or is this a limitation in the designer? |

The error is actually coming from the database provider. If this is still a problem for you you can log the SQL being generated and then have a look at what is being specified for the create table statement. If you run this against the database directly you should then get more detail about the provider error message and you can use that info to diagnose what exactly is wrong with the statement. Presumably from the error message you are using a type (e.g. NVARCHAR(MAX) on SQL Server) which is not valid to be used as a primary key column?
