Hi Guys, I am just playing with CE and Lightspeed with a view to using it in a new project and came across a small problem. If the database is created with "Platform Default" as the encryption method, when you drag a table onto the Lightspeed design surface, nothing happens. There are no errors or messsages, it just doesn't do anything. I deleted the database and re-created it using "Engine Default" (which is the default encryption method in CE) and it all worked fine. I haven't dug any further than that. Cheers Paul |

Hmm, works for me with either encryption method. Is it possible you forgot to check "Save password" when setting up the connection to the one that was encrypted with platform default? Though that should produce an error rather than nothing at all... If you need or want to use Platform Default rather than Engine Default, then perhaps you could post your .SDF file and we'll take a look. If you're happy with Engine Default, then we'll just log the issue and come back to it if it recurs. |

Thanks for the swift response Ivan. I'm happy using "Engine Default". I'm not sure what the problem was. I couldn't get it to work, so I added another connection for a SQL 2008 DB and dragged a table over from that and it was fine. It's possible that I didn't check the "Save Password", although I thought I had and as you say, I would expect to see a message of some sort. I then went back and re-created the CE database using the different encryption and dragged a table on and that was fine. Anywhoo, all seems good now, many thanks. |
