Do you or does anyone have a working example of getting and saving data from Mindscape Lightspeed for use with the Ruby on Rails programming environment? The page would be an autonomous subordinate page within a .NET application that ideally could operate stand-alone as well. I realize this question is a bit vague but some sort of example would be helpful. The alternative as far as I can tell is to ditch Lightspeed in favor or Rails ActiveRecord. Thank you for your response. |

Just posting a quick note so you're not left wondering if anyone has seen this! I'm not aware of anybody who's using LightSpeed in a manner than needs to be compatible with ActiveRecord. Having said that, we borrowed a lot from the design principles of ActiveRecord when we built LightSpeed originally (convention over configuration, validation framework built in, migrations, etc etc). I'd be curious what issues you're running into that are preventing the two from talking to the same underlying database. Kind regards, John-Daniel Trask |
