Hi, I want to define a entity which has to string properties, but one should be from sql type nvarchar and the other from sql type varchar? Unfortunately the model designer is generating always nvarchar types. Many thanks for any tip or hint, Tom |

We always map to nvarchar for generating a new string if you are updating the database through the model designer, so if you want to use a varchar type in the database you will need to manually adjust this. If you are using the scripts generated by the model designer for populating your database in subsequent environments just adjust it directly otherwise if you are using a migration then you will need to add in an ALTER TABLE statement to make the change after you initially create the table.
