Hello All, First off, I'm using Visual Studio 2010, VB.Net (4.0 framework), desktop application, Lightspeed 4 ( not sure which build number...), and Oracle 11g backend... I have a model in which there are enities from two different schemas, with associations across the schema boundary. The two different schemas were created and owned by two different users. The tables in question DO have permissions for the User that the appliaction will be using to access the data... Ok, so now with my problem... I can successfully drag new tables from either schema onto the model and all works well, I can "Update From Source" tables from one schema BUT NOT the other... I get the Visual Studio error: "All tables selected must have the same owner" when I try to update one of the tables from the other schema... Ivan posted something a while ago ( about two years ago... (Feb 2011)) in the thread: Mindscape Forum Thread 3512, here's a quote:
So, Has any progress been made on this particular issue/limitation??? I really need to update some of the tables, and I would prefer not to have to do it by hand in the model and/or removing/deleting said tables from the model and re-adding them, as there are too many things would have to be redone :-(!!! Thanks in Advance, Kevin Orcutt |

Hi Kevin, No there have been no changes here and unfortunately this is not going to be something we can address easily in the designer. So for the time being you will need to follow either follow Ivans advice from the original thread or manage the entities on a separate model (if possible) or failing that manage them directly in code instead.
