How are sql server timestamps aka rowversion fields handled? It's just showing up in my model as object and the documentation is blank on the subject. I would like to be able to retrieve a timestamp, query against it and store the value elsewhere but I don't see that it's possible as things stand. |

We dont have any specific handling for them, via ADO.NET they should be being surfaced as a byte array so you could just generate the property as FieldOnly and then handle the casting via a manually implemented property in the partial if you do want to surface it as a byte array (or something custom of your own designs..). If you are going down the custom route you could also look at using a field converter to handle the conversion logic outside of the property and set up a custom user defined type in the designer so you are actually dealing with a properly typed instance.
